Do we ever talk about anything else?
I am currently in the middle of my "award-winning middle grade" education. I kinda skipped over that area when I was a kid, since, by the time I was old enough to appreciate the award winners and had read all of the Ramonas and Fudges, I was jumping to adult books. I still read YA and middle grade but I really missed out on a big chunk. So I'm going back and reading what I missed. Right now I'm on hiatus as I read a few urgent manuscripts and get through some of the submission pile, but my next venture is The Giver, followed by Holes.
What is everyone else reading? I want to know.

Both of those are really great.
Right now I'm reading Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. I like it!
Have you read HATCHET by Gary Paulsen yet? Or WHERE THE RED FERN GROWS by Wilson Rawls? Both are classics, gotta luv 'em!

I am reading Permanent Rose by Hilary McKay. If you like quirky BritLit, you will love McKay's Casson family books.
If you read Where the Red Fern Grows, be sure to have a case of Kleenex handy.
I recommend The Truth about Mary Rose by Marilyn Sachs for a classic, great MG. Actually any Marilyn Sachs is good stuff.
Have you read Nancy Farmer's books? I LOOOVE Nancy Farmer, especially, House of the Scorpion (Sci-Fi-ish, but not the space kind). Also, The Ear, The Eye and the Arm and Peter Dickinson's The Kin are FANTASTIC. The last thing I read was a manuscript, but I'm itching to pick up another book.
The Giver is one of my favorites.
I'm reading A ROOM ON LORELEI STREET right now.
And I'm putting my copy of ENDER'S GAME in my bag now to bring to you at work.

and Fragile Things by Neil Gaiman
